I am a mixed media artist. My paintings combine acrylics, layered paper, photographs and found objects. My home studio is filled with containers and files of odd finds that hold the promise of inspiring my next painting. My process always starts with an emotional connection to the subject. It has to touch my heart in some way. Then, I can let the painting reveal itself organically as I feel my way through the work. The loves of my life have always been my main source of inspiration. Faith, family and friends are continuing themes. I find great humor in the juxtaposition of ill-matched media. The odd photo cropping up in an unnatural setting just makes me smile. I hope the joy in my journey is apparent and the smile is contagious.
